From the Canon City Daily Record October 3, 2011
To the editor:
I met Tony Greer shortly after he and his family relocated to Cañon City during the early 2000s. After knowing Tony, I recognized his innate ability to creatively solve problems and overcome challenges. Due to these observations, I included him in the development of Dawson Ranch, which consisted of 640 lots.
During the past decade, I have appreciated Tony’s persistence in seeking win-win solutions to difficult problems during the development of Dawson Ranch and also during the serious economic and political challenges the City of Cañon City faces.
I believe our community requires a mayor who has the work ethic, dedication and critical thinking skills to appropriately modify outdated governmental regulations and policies, which will promote current and healthy growth for the City of Cañon City.
For this city to be successful during the current trying times, the governmental officials must become more sophisticated and open minded in order to work with potential investors, business leaders and our current residents. Tony Greer satisfies this need.
We need a leader that not only listens but also hears the concerns of both sides of the table. Additionally, Tony has the wherewithal to hold city officials accountable to promote the best interests of Cañon City. The burgers you will be buying at Jack in the Box are a clear example of this.
Because of Tony’s knowledge of the city rules and regulations for building/development, his expertise in marketing, sales and real estate, and his philosophies, which he has adhered to consistently for the past two years as mayor, I strongly believe Tony Greer is the only choice for mayor to resurrect the needed financial development and regenerate life to our community.
